What are the requirements to rent a car?

  • Valid driver's License
  • Meet our minimum age requirement
  • Proof of Insurance

What if I don't have Insurance?

  • You can have someone add you to their insurance.
  • You can purchase your own Insurance Liability or Full coverage. 
  • If you only have liability, you would need to purchase the additional insurance coverage (comprehensive and collision). Click the Insurance tab to view third party companies that offer comprehensive and collision. 

How much is a rental car?

  • We have a wide variety of vehicles to choose from. It depends on the car, the length you choose to rent the car, and any additional misc. charges you choose. 

Can I have an out of state Driver's License and still Rent a car?

  • Yes, If you are flying into Georgia please provide a copy of your flight information.
  • If you are driving into Georgia, you would need to put an additional driver down who has a Valid Georgia driver's License.
  • Please keep in mind learner's permit are NOT accepted.

Is a car rental deposit Required?

  • No, a deposit is not required unless you rent a luxury vehicle. Different luxury vehicles have different deposit prices, which you will see while booking a reservation. 

Can I add an additional driver to my rental?

  •  Yes, it is free to add an additional driver.   

Is there an extra fee for renters under 25?

  • Yes, you have to be 21+ to rent a vehicle.
  • If you are between the ages of 21-24 it is an extra $100 fee.
  • Young renters are unable to rent Luxury vehicles

What if I leave/lost an item in the rental car?

  • Gold Star Automotive is not responsible for any items left in a vehicle.

Can I travel out of state?

  • Yes, only to the Southeast Atlantic states.
  • GA,FL,AL,MS,TN,SC,NC

Can I drive unlimited miles?

  • Yes, if unlimited mileage is purchased
  • This does not apply to luxury vehicles


How do I change or cancel my reservation?

  • Please call the office to change/cancel a reservation.
  • If you rent a luxury vehicle and have paid the deposit and cancel in less than 24 hours of your reservation time , the deposit will not be refundable. 

Do I need to refuel the vehicle before returning it?

  • Customers may refuel the vehicle to the same fuel level upon picking up the vehicle.
  • A full tank of gas is NOT guaranteed

Do I need to clean out the vehicle before returning it?

  • Please return the vehicle as it was given so a cleaning fee will not be charged. 

What is your pet policy?

  • Sorry NO PETS ALLOWED in the vehicles. 
  • If we see pet hair in the vehicle a $200 clean out fee will be charged. 

What should I do if I get in an accident in a rental car?

  • If you are involved in a car accident, call 911 and get a police report, contact your insurance provider and Gold Star Automotive to provide information on the accident. 
  • If you are involved in an accident when Gold Star Automotive is closed please text the number on your rental agreement and someone will give you a call.

What should I do if my rental car breaks down?

  • Please immediately call the number on your rental agreement. 
  • If Gold Star Automotive is closed please immediately text the number on your rental agreement.
